I have a question yet am on the phones right now
When you’re free, ask away
Or type it
How is this guided pathways differ from what is already being done currently besides the fact it is a money maker point like equity was years ago?
Janie are you part of the GP team?
If so, are we moving in the right direction on how we are now handling GP?
my apologies Janie I missed if you answered
can we get money for a GP coordinator classified position?
Josh will Janies' awesome answer be in the notes?
I can help with Tech & Data team if they need classified staff
Thanks, Janie, for the detailed info
What is the biggest change you would like to achieve in the next 1.5 or so years? And does it also or can it include alternative ways of how students succeed in class, besides the routine quizzes and testing?
I issed it darn phones solo... my apologies Janie I love hearing your answers and input
Andre—will be in the minutes, yes. Fundamentally, her point is that GP pathways is about making the college student ready. Not forcing students in to “college ready” whatever that means
wild that that is considered a radical idea
Thank you Josh....
what is the GP fop? or where is that funding coming from?
How do we put the money to what "matters"? Is what I am hearing from Mike... the people heading this it is their agenda so it makes sense why the free labor instead of investing on what is important. Do you know whos model is being copied from other guided pathways frames? Like Compton college did an amazing job yet their version will not work at Foothill since the demographics do not match.
You can cut my question if need be. To move forward.
Thank you Janie.
Is this like mom saying clean your room and some kids only do it when they get allowance?
Guided pathways regards only seem thus far as how fast can you move worker bees through to getting papers.
Andre—that was/and remains my concern. That CAN NOT be the focus
Also, students won’t take unnecessary courses.
To save time, I’m gonna drop a couple resources if you are interested in learning more.
Thanks for all the info Janie :)
I am awaiting to her this new versions that I have yet to hear thus far.
All love im anti the pathways thus far so I do not feel I would be very helpful
I am part of Dokeshas team
I am so excited that we have Janie championing
Josh and Janie, I can help with Tech & Data team if they need classified staff
good to share with all the classfied
Guided Pathways video: https://youtu.be/sPtzyrvdILU Keep in mind this shows the general model. We have the control to make GP appropriate for FH.
R&R is doing the same thing: either supporting it and saying R&R is not the lead, or saying R&R is the lead and what R&R will do to address the item
These darn videos
Thank you Janie.... intriguing folks making videos... thinking innovative....oh my.
Thanks Rick for writing that, I was going to mention that too.
The part highlighted about performative that is the culture of poor leadership.
that sounds reasonable to me
Great starting point to shift culture
We all collectively affect culture
My question would be, how do CS handle accountability? Most of these sound like CS is involved, but not really. So how can we hold others accountable once it does go to where it belong….???
I did question who these students are and if they are representing the entire student body….the answer was that this are individual students but that ASFC supports the letters’ requests. But, as a student myself, I pointed out that I’ve never heard this. And how do these students and ASFC expect to inform the student body. And, do the students get vote on this. I’m thinking of the “defund the campus police” request. Would the student body as a whole need to vote on this? These questions are for ASFC not Classified Senate.
@janie like how do we bake in to the letter accountability?
After hearing Janie, my question relates to hers.
there's a lot of overlap in the demands
They are all interconnected as the system is meant to be creating barriers of confusion to divide and conquer.
as long as it's not performative and shows concrete things we can deliver
JOSH: I’m down to help if you want someone to bounce ideas off of.
@Konstantin yes, incorporating GP can be how we further encourage sustainability and student centered-ness
I tis from the Opportunity Gap book
that's hilariously corny but so on point, GP is getting places boooo :D:D:D
You can always count on me for corny!
Ooh @andre I’m adding that one to my list!
Ok I can give you a scroll of options
Please send my way!
How bout we model collective
